The bus terminal can be found at the right hand side of the airport.
There are three bus lines shuttling between the airport and the city during the day. These are bus no. 70, bus no. 71 and bus. 12. If you want to get to the main railway or bus station, you should debus at “Aalborg Busterminal”. In case you want to get to real center, the best idea would be to depart at “Vesterbro” or “Nytorv”. A bus trip between the airport and the city takes about 15 minutes (it may take a little bit longer to get to the railway station). Read more about the routes and timetables at the operator’s website. For those, who have to transfer at night there are buses no. 24 and no. 71N (last one departing before 1am).
Important! The ticket costs DKK22 and it is available at the bus driver. Please have in mind to prepare cash, at it is the only payment option allowed. Children up to 15 years and seniors from 65 years pay half of the price. In case of longer stays, an NT travel pass would be a good idea (DKK150 for 24 hours or DKK250 for 72 hours).
There are direct coaches available to Thisted (bus no. 70). Unfortunately, if you want to visit other bigger nearby cities (such as Viborg or Fredrikshavn), you should transfer to the Aalborg’s bus station (Aalborg Busterminal) at first.
If you want to travel more comfortable, you can order a taxi for around DKK200. The trip to the center will take about 15 minute. The taxis are available at the entrance to the terminal. Below you can find the list of companies recommended by the airport.
Car rental constitutes a great option for those, who appreciate independence. If you want to travel on your own, going whenever and wherever you want, consider renting a car. You will find Avis, Europcar, Hertz, National, Sixt or Budget vehicles available at the airport.
